"Insurance should make a stressful time easier to navigate, but this is not the case with State Farm anymore. I had multiple policies for about 14 years with no "at fault" claims. One vehicle claim for a deer and the latest disaster of a claim for hail damage on the roof of my home. Around the time of the storm I was diagnosed with a major medical issue so it was really important that my policy handled the roof problem so I didn't have to stress over it. That was not the case. I spend a year trying to get State Farm to follow the policy. Was told it was not hail damage even with an Engineer's Report clearly stating unequivocally the roof had substantial hail damage from the identified storm. The claim was assigned to multiple adjusters over the yearlong process. Each time it was reassigned I would have to start all over in the process. I finally became frustrated and went into the office to get some in-person assistance. This is when it really got ridiculous. Peter Fox, an ex-teacher turned insurance salesman, began using google search photos to try and convince me the damage pictures of my roof were not hail damage. He said something hit the roof, but not hail and simply dismissed the extensive, photo supported, findings of a certified independent engineering firm. Knowing it was futile to continue the I ended the conversation. At this time Peter Fox, seeing I was wearing an cannula for oxygen due to my medical condition began trying to sell me a life insurance policy, stating all I had to do was live two years for it to pay out. What was an absurd experience in trying to gain assistance with my current policy, turned even more absurd. It was not until I was right at the point of taking legal action that suddenly the engineer was right and the roof needed to be replaced. An entire year of stress and constantly trying to get someone consistent on the phone to help! I used to be a huge fan of State Farm and proud to say that's who I had insuring all of my vehicles and home. I'm not surprised to see all of the law suits in Oklahoma against State Farm for denied hail damage claims. The allegations sound quite familiar. FIND BETTER INSURANCE TO SUPPORT YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT TO!!!"
